MAREA, also known as the Malaysian Recycling Alliance, was established in January 2021 as an industry-led, pioneering initiative towards circular economy. Our goals will primarily revolve around enhancing collection, promoting the use of recycled and renewable materials as well as minimising post-consumer packaging leakage into the environment.
MAREA's mission is to collaborate with the Malaysian Government and other stakeholders to jointly improve collection and recycling rates for a greener, cleaner Malaysia and a more sustainable, waste-reduced future.

MAREA aims to promote circular use of packaging in Malaysia, by driving behavioural changes along the value chain and fostering high rates of segregation, collection and recycling. At the official launch, MAREA pledged also to recycle as a minimum 25% of its members’ packaging volumes by 2025.

Ramjeet has been appointed as the Chairman of MAREA for 7 June 2024. Ramjeet was appointed as Managing Director of Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad (DLMI) on 2 July 2021. Prior to this role, Ramjeet was the Marketing Director for Consumer Dairy, a position she has held since 2018.
