Mar 3, 2010 · PUTRAJAYA: The Court of Appeal today set aside a High Court's summary judgment ordering Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to repay Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd RM66.67 million in loan facilities taken to purchase shares in Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd in 2001 and ordered a full trial to proceed.
Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim was the first to do so, he says. According to past press reports, this was over a suit filed by Khalid against Bank Islam in 2007 over the alleged wrongful disposal of his shares in Guthrie Bhd which he had acquired through an Islamic financing facility in 2001 when he was Guthrie’s CEO.
