Northerly Island is a great place to visit if you have the time. It has some nice trails and a decent beach. Above all, Northerly Island is my favorite place to see a concert in Chicago. You get to be outside and see the Chicago skyline as a backdrop to the stage.

Northerly Island’s newest attraction is a 40-acre park opened on the southern part of the island in 2015. The majority of the space is dedicated to nature, featuring a concrete trail for walking and bicycle riding, a 5-acre lagoon, casual play areas, landscaped wildlife habitats and a spectacular view of the Chicago skyline.
