Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav (Czech pronunciation: [ˈbrandiːs ˈnad labɛm ˈstaraː ˈbolɛslaf]; German: Brandeis and Altbunzlau) is an administratively united pair of towns in Prague-East District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
Brandýs, with its Renaissance chateau, lies on the left bank, whereas Stará Boleslav and the oldest Czech place of pilgrimage is on the right bank. Boleslav was made famous by the death of Saint Wenceslas, who is the main patron of the Czech nation and a symbol of Czech statehood.
