Mar 1, 2024 · The easiest route to Deakin’s Burwood Campus is by tram or bus. You can also get a train to Box Hill Station and catch a connecting bus from there. You will need a Myki card to travel. Once you have organised an account and got your card, you can top it up on campus just outside Student Central.
The Melbourne Burwood Campus is Deakin University’s main campus, where around 26,000 students and 1,500 staff meet every day. The campus hosts a wide range of facilities and services that are available to all Deakin College students, so you can be fully immersed in the Deakin University experience from day one.
The Burwood campus is on the site of the former Burwood Teachers' College, and also takes in the former sites of the Bennettswood Primary School and the Burwood Secondary School. The teachers' college conducted two-year training courses for Primary School teachers, and three year courses for Infant Teachers (females only).
