Mar 23, 2024 · PETALING JAYA: A total of eight localities in Peninsular Malaysia are now under Level 2 heatwave. According to the latest advisory from MetMalaysia, the whole of Perlis is under Level 2 heatwave, as well as parts of Kedah and Perak. The areas are Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Pokok Sena, Sik, Hulu Perak, Baling and Kota Setar.
Of the 48 areas, six areas in the peninsula had Level 2 heatwave alerts while the remaining areas were issued Level 1 alerts, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
