University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) is one of the organisations in the Ministry of Higher Education. Main objectives of UMMC are health services, learning and research. UMMC strive to provide the best services and treatment. Efforts that are ongoing are to provide medical services, learning and research with the best efficiency to our customer.
UMMC (formerly known as University Hospital) is under the jurisdiction of the University of Malaya Statute since May 25th, 2000. We have been known as UMMC since then with these main objectives: To establish, operate and develop a medical centre of international standing and repute;

The University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) (Malay: Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya, abbr: PPUM), formerly known as University Hospital, is a government-funded teaching hospital and medical instructions located in Pantai Dalam, southwest corner of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Orthopaedic Surgery being part of the University Malaya Medical Centre plays a major role in management of patients who are channeled from walk-in clinics, the accident and emergency unit, primary care clinics and other specialist clinics, and referred from practitioners elsewhere , both general practitioners and specialists.
To aid in the teaching and learning of our students, University Malaya has a large teaching hospital, University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). This teaching hospital has more than 1000 beds and more than 1 million patients annually, giving our students ample opportunities to practise the art of Medicine in a safe and supervised environment.
