Jan 30, 2015 · The thiochemicals platform, which came on stream in Kerteh, Malaysia at the beginning of 2015, produces methyl mercaptan for use as a synthesis intermediate in animal feed and dimethyl disulfide ( DMDS ).

Jul 17, 2017 · Global chemical major Arkema is set to double its methyl mercaptan production capacity at its Kerteh site in Malaysia in a move that will strengthen its world leading position in high value added sulfur derivatives and support the strong growth of the animal feed, petrochemical and refining markets in Asia.
Upon completion, Arkema will supply a key raw ingredient to CJ for the production of bio-methionine. When completed, the facility will be able to produce 80,000 metric tons of bio-methionine additives for poultry and 50,000 metric tons of sulphur derivatives for the petrochemical markets.
