McLaren Formula 1 will race with Mercedes-Benz power in the 2024 F1 season, taking to the track for 24 race weekends with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
The McLaren F1 is a sports car designed and manufactured by British automobile manufacturer McLaren Cars and powered by the BMW S70/2 V12 engine. The original concept was conceived by Gordon Murray, who successfully convinced Ron Dennis to back the project and hired car designer Peter Stevens to design the exterior and interior of the car.
Since entering the sport in 1966 under the guidance and restless endeavour of eponymous founder Bruce, McLaren's success has been nothing short of breathtaking. Five glittering decades have yielded countless victories, pole positions and podiums, not to mention eight constructors' championships.
After our first taste of Formula 1 victory at the 1968 Belgian Grand Prix, McLaren has gone on to secure 184 grand prix wins in total and 20 World Championships. Whether it’s the F1 drivers on track, mechanics in the garage, management team on the pitwall or engineers in the MTC, we are united by bravery, ingenuity and the thrill of the chase.
