May 22, 2023 · Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Meta IE) was fined by the Irish Data Protection Authority (IE DPA) for transferring personal data to the U.S. on the basis of standard contractual clauses (SCCs). The fine was imposed following a binding dispute resolution decision by the European Data Protection Board (EDPB).
