Jul 14, 2020 · SHAH ALAM, July 14 — Selangor will resume the death benefit payments under the Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE), a scheme for senior citizens, next year. Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said he would announce the details himself during the tabling of the state government budget in November.
The scheme previously paid RM2,500 to the next-of-kin of deceased Selangor and Kuala Lumpur seniors for funeral expenses. Members are now entitled to two distinct benefits: a once-a-year RM100 ‘Jom Shopping’ voucher for festive seasons, and a one-time RM500 death benefit payment to a next-of-kin.
Aug 12, 2021 · SHAH ALAM, Aug 12 — The Selangor government has extended its RM1,000 death benefit aid to the next of kin of Covid-19 patients who succumbed to the infection until the end of the year with an additional RM1 million allocation.
