May 15, 2021 · Where now? : r/CombatFootage. Liveleak dead. Where now? Liveleak is gone, where do we go now? I'm trying to stay up to date on the Israel conflict, without bias or censorship. Liveleak was great for that.. but it's gone. Where's the new spot? Liveleak has been dead since like 2016.
SirWaffleOfSyrup. •. Lasting 15 years doesn't mean jack if the company isn't profitable. Twitter only became profitable in 2018, about 12/13 years to become profitable. If that shut down in say 2017 then it would be a failied statup. I have a strong feeling LiveLeak was losing money.

May 9, 2021 · The LiveLeak site had already been a complete mess for the past year or so before the shutdown last week. The type of videos that were the exact reason why people still visited LiveLeak would inexplicably fail to load or play, and other severe bugs basically made LiveLeak unusable for the final year of its lifespan.
Liveleak loss is what made me start archiving. There was a guy who did compilations of the Syrian War that were really good. No music or anything but lots of shorter videos in long form. UR-77 Mine Clearer being used offensively in the Syrian War survived on youtube.

May 6, 2021 · Liveleak has been utter garbage and basically neuterized the last 5 years. The site was castrated, it's inevitable. There's a number of users here who are saying (non-verbatim) that r/CombatFootage lacks the quality that LiveLeak had in terms of scope of footage, especially dealing with the graphic ones.
