Point Anne is a ghost town on the Bay of Quinte approximately four miles east of downtown Belleville, Ontario. It is now part of Belleville. It was the birthplace of hockey greats Bobby Hull and Dennis Hull. Point Anne was established in 1837, and it was home to various cement companies starting with Portland cement in 1905.

Point Anne was also the birthplace of the late hockey legend and superstar, Bobby Hull, in 1939. Point Anne’s demise came swiftly and abruptly. The plant closed in 1973, following a merger between the Canada Cement Company and Lafarge Cement North America in 1970.
First known as Ox Point, with its rich cache of limestone, in the early 1900’s Point Anne was home to the second largest cement plant in Canada. Author, Vern Whalen, grew up in this “village built on rock”.

Jun 10, 2013 · A few days ago I visited the ruins of the old Portland Cement ruins. The cement factory was built in 1905 in a little town named Point Anne that is now often referred to as a ghost town.
