Balliol is one of Oxford’s larger colleges, with a thriving community of about 370 undergraduates and a nearly equal number of graduates. We welcome applications from students from any background and from anywhere in the world.
Yes (for all courses, with the exception of Law). Balliol has a long tradition of accepting students for undergraduate degrees who already have degrees at other universities. Generally such students only do the Part II element of the degree (usually two years) but some choose to do the whole undergraduate degree.

Balliol was in 1973 the first of the traditional all-male colleges to elect a woman as a Fellow and Tutor, and the College has admitted women as students since 1979: one of them, Masako Owada (Balliol 1988 – 90, resident in Holywell Manor 1988 – 9 ), was married to HIH The Crown Prince of Japan in June 1993.
Maps and Directions. Balliol is in the centre of Oxford, on three sites: The main College site in Broad Street ( OX1 3BJ) Jowett Walk ( OX1 3TL) and the Master’s Field (new residential buildings, adjacent to the College sports ground). These are collectively known as the Dervorguilla site.
