May 14, 2016 · the song is actually about having an abortion. it'd been fully legal for about 11 years by 1984 when the song came out. a girl in trouble is a 'temporary' thing. having the baby isn't temporary. it's a sadly truthful look at the issue. they did an excellent job with the song. interestingly, the name of the band is Romeo Void, lead singer is a woman named Iyall.
Apr 21, 2015 · Yeah, did you catch The Girl Is In Trouble? I knew about him before J.J. Abrams did’. I can see why J.J. Abrams has taken a shine to Onah. The cinematography is beautiful. Also, as a young Nigerian director I think he’s got the advantage of being able to cast a black actor as the lead without any kind of apology or agenda.
I was a bit torn about The Girl Is In Trouble as the credits started rolling. I'm quite fond of 'normal'/'human' stories, which this is, but it overcomplicates itself in the story by introducing too many players into the mystery as well as becoming over-stylised with a very intrusive voiceover from the lead character and some very quirky, but out of place in this film, moving social media ...
