Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) (Jawi:كريتاڤي تانه ملايو برحد) or Malayan Railway Limited, colloquially referred to simply as KTM, is the main rail operator in Peninsular Malaysia. The railway system dates back to the British colonial era, when it was first built to transport tin.
The 1,000 mm gauge railway network in Peninsular Malaysia which is controlled by KTM consists of two main lines and several branch lines. The lines operated by KTM consist: West Coast Main Line (Gemas-JB section is under upgrade to electrified double track) East Coast Main Line (single track) Port Klang Line (electrified double track)

KTM Berhad, or KTMB for short, is the main railway operator in Peninsular Malaysia. Previously known as the Federated Malay States Railways (FMSR) and the Malayan Railway Administration (MRA), the name change to Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) was formerly inaugurated in 1962.
It was established under the Railways Act 1991 (Act 463) through the Government Gazette No.16 Volume 36 on July 30, 1992. It became fully operational as an organisation on Aug 1, 1992, the same time the Malayan Railway Administration (KTM) was corporatised and known as Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB).
