I’m very happy to note that Government of Maharashtra has decided to form a new University named after the renowned scientist of India, Dr. Homi Bhabha, with Sydenham College and three other state run colleges as its constituents, thus, upgrading status of the college to an university.

  2. Initially the institution was christened as the Government College of Commerce. It acquired its present name, Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, in acknowledgement of the munificence of Lord Sydenham, the then Governor of Bombay presidency, towards the growth and development of this premier educational institution.

The Senior College is affiliated to University of Mumbai and offers under-graduate programmes in Commerce (B.Com) and Self-Financed Courses like Bachelor of Commerce in Banking and Insurance (BBI) and Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S). The B.Com classes are conducted in the morning session.
