Peter A. Ramsey (born December 23, 1962) is an American illustrator, storyboard artist, film director, screenwriter and film producer. He is best known for directing DreamWorks Animation's Rise of the Guardians (2012), becoming the first African American to direct a major American animated film, and co-directing Sony Pictures Animation's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018).

Jul 1, 2021 · I first interviewed Peter Ramsey in 2012 for his DreamWorks Animation feature Rise of the Guardians. We met-up at the Critics Choice Awards a couple months later. In 2018, Ramsey co-directed Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which earned him an Academy Award. He’s one of the busiest and most respected guys working in animation today.
