Natschinski zählt zu den bekanntesten Komponisten der DDR. Er hatte die Pseudonyme: Robert Romanus, Ernst Erich Erdmann.

Gerd Natschinski. Real Name: Gerd Natschinski. Profile: German composer, conductor and arranger (* 23 August 1928 in Chemnitz, German Empire; † 04 August 2015 in Berlin, Germany). Nick-name: "Natsch". From 1949-1952, he was conductor of the Rundfunk Tanzorchester Leipzig. In 1952, he became conductor of the Rundfunk-Tanzorchester Berlin.
In 1952 Gerd Natschinski was promoted as Chief Conductor of the Radio and Entertainment Orchestra of the Berlin Broadcast Service. At the same time the DEFA commissioned him frequently as composer for film music.
