A graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Philip Braham first came to prominence in the 1980s with the rise of figurative painting in Scotland, which culminated in The Vigorous Imagination, an exhibition at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in 1987.
Philip Braham (b. Glasgow, Scotland, UK 1959) studied at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee and the Royal Academy of Fine Art (KABK), The Hague (1981). He was a visiting artist at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1982.
