On February 10, 2017, Save Ferris released the Checkered Past EP, their first release in 18 years. The EP was produced by Oingo Boingo bassist John Avila and features a guest appearance by Neville Staple of The Specials on the EP's first single, "New Sound".
Feb 6, 2017 · Checkered Past is a hollow echo of what Save Ferris once was, and really isn’t worth a listen. A friend of mine came up with a theory once that any band whose first big hit single is a cover is pretty much doomed to never have another hit. If you think about it, the theory stands up pretty well: Orgy, Alien Ant Farm, Dynamite Hack, Save Ferris.
