Originally from Portland, Oregon, Patrick O'Hearn began his career on the California coast, touring with Frank Zappa from the fall of 1976 to early 1978 (returning for a brief stint with the band in October of 1978, including the legendary run of shows at the Palladium in New York City the week of Halloween.)
