Bruce came out of retirement in 1992 to go on safari making the Hollywood-sequel Endless Summer II (released in 1994 by New Line Cinema), a reprise of the original with Robert “Wingnut” Weaver and Pat O’Connell leading the search But Brown was disappointed with the process and the result.
Filmmaker Bruce Brown changed that with The Endless Summer. The all-time classic portrayed the wave as a kind of Holy Grail and surfers as knights on a quest to explore the world in search of the perfect wave.
