Subgroup 3 - Electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI) Delegated Acts. The implementation of Regulation (EU) No 2020/1056 on electronic freight transport information (eFTI) , which entered into force on 20 August 2020, is one of the main initiatives for the digital transition in transport and logistics.
The regulation establishes a legal framework that allows economic operators to share with enforcement authorities information in an electronic format concerning the transport of goods by road, rail, inland waterways and air in the European Union (EU).

It establishes a legal framework for road, rail, maritime and air transport operators to share information with enforcement authorities in an electronic format.
Aug 5, 2022 · Implementing the eFTI regulation: digitizing information and making it available. The European Commission will develop technical specifications for eFTI platforms by 2022. Member States will then have 30 months to establish digital logistics platforms for information exchange.

The eFTI Regulation is set to transform freight transport within the EU by replacing paper-based documentation with electronic data in all transport modes. This digital shift will apply to road, rail, inland waterway, and air transport.
Jun 1, 2023 · The eFTI Regulation affects several EU regulations, such as those on tariffs, combined transport, road cabotage, waste shipment, dangerous goods, aviation safety and rail interoperability, among others. After several delays, it is expected to be implemented from December 2025.
