Li Ling ( Chinese: 李陵; pinyin: Lǐ Líng, died 74 BC [1] ), courtesy name Shaoqing ( Chinese: 少卿; pinyin: Shǎoqīng ), was a Chinese military general of the Western Han dynasty who served during the reign of Emperor Wu. He later defected to the Xiongnu after being defeated in an expedition in 99 BC.

Oct 4, 2023 · CHINA’S Li Ling was going from pole to pole – literally – before winning the Asian Games pole vault gold medal at the Hangzhou Olympic Stadium. She won the gold with a leap of 4.63m, which shattered her previous Games record of 4.60m in the 2018 edition in Indonesia.
Li Ling is the best female pole vaulter in Asia, with a personal best of 4.65m and an Asian record of 4.51m. She started training at 12 and improved slowly but steadily, overcoming challenges and disappointments to win the IAAF Continental Cup and the Asian Games.
