The Boeing 757 is an American narrow-body airliner designed and built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The then-named 7N7, a twinjet successor for the trijet 727 , received its first orders in August 1978.

Jun 18, 2021 · Boeing originally proposed the 757 with two different-sized variants. The smaller 757-100 would offer a capacity of around 160 and the larger 757-200 around 180. With much more interest from airlines in the larger variant, Boeing dropped the 757-100.
