About Yong Loo Lin. Kuala Lumpur-born Dr Yong Loo Lin graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Hong Kong in 1923. He established himself as a successful businessman in Hong Kong and was a strong advocate of education. Dr Yong passed away in 1959 and the Yong Loo Lin Trust was established by his family.
The Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, established in 1905, is the first institution of higher learning in Singapore and the genesis of the National University of Singapore. The School is one of many who offer medical programmes in the Asia Pacific region.
