The inmate Charlie Forsyth is executed in the electric chair in the Creedmore Prison, and the guard Ethan Sharpe keeps his crucifix. Thirty years later, Sharpe is promoted to warden and decides to reopen the Creedmore Prison against the will of the board responsible for the prisoners.
