In a twist of faith the same woman hires Brent to help her in the custody case for her son in exchange of allowing him to continue investigating her husbands murder. Good start with an interesting twist, but then it runs out of ideas for a while and the middle of the movie is almost sleep worthy.
Mrs. Hope Ames, a wealthy socialite, is acquitted of her husband Perry's murder, despite the earnest attempts of prosecutor Matt Logan. Logan is placed in contempt of court because of his angry outburst when she is acquitted.
