WSPC’s mission is to help keep Washington Square Park clean, safe and beautiful. The Parks Department is responsible for all operational management and policy decisions regarding the Park. Concerns about the Park should be directed to the Parks Department or to Manhattan Community Board 2.
The Washington Square Association gained wide recognition and became the inspiration and model for many community-oriented organizations throughout the country. We put on events in the park such as the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting and the Washington Square Music Festival as well as support the park's many projects .
Today, visiting Washington Square means strolling its tree-lined pathways, observing the clone of Philadelphia’s only Moon Tree and stopping to recognize the memorial to Washington and unknown soldiers of the American Revolution.
