Melanie has fallen deep into an unhealthy melancholy mental state, conversing with a creepy doll. She has trouble caring for herself. She befriends Dukken (Robin Lord Taylor) the town Goth who she ignored in school. Kenny (Josh Caras), the shy kid who sells her pink Sno-Ball cakes, is crushing on her.
