Pretty Girl Barbara Mededith takes over her murdered brother's crusading newspaper. She also assumes the dead sibling's identity as "The Black Whip," righting the wrongs of Crescent City very much in the manner of her famous ancestor, Zorro.

Zorro's Black Whip is a 1944 12-chapter film serial by Republic Pictures starring Linda Stirling. The film was made after the 1940 20th Century-Fox remake of The Mark of Zorro in order to capitalize on it.
Apr 3, 2015 · Aside from the novel gimmick of a masked heroine, Zorro’s Black Whip is a typical wartime Republic serial–which is to say, it moves at a breathless pace and features an impressive array of well-done action scenes, but is correspondingly rather thin in the plotting and characterization departments.
