Benji is a 2018 American adventure drama film directed by Brandon Camp, and produced by Blumhouse Productions. It is a reboot of the 1974 film of the same title, and stars Gabriel Bateman and Darby Camp as a boy and his sister who befriend a dog named Benji.
Benji is a small golden mixed-breed dog with a knack for being in the right place at the right time, usually to help someone overcome a problem. The character has been portrayed by several dogs over the years, including Higgins , the veteran animal actor who originated the role.
Two school kids strike up a friendship with an orphaned puppy named Benji. When danger befalls them and they end up kidnapped by robbers who are in over their heads, Benji and his scruffy sidekick come to the rescue.
