Avi Arad (/ ˈ ɑː v i ˈ ɑː r ɑː d /; Hebrew: אבי ארד; born 1948) is an Israeli-American film producer who became the CEO of the company Toy Biz in the 1990s and soon afterward became the chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment, and the chairman, CEO, and founder of Marvel Studios.

The specific grudge Raimi fans have against him is that he insisted on Raimi including Venom in SM3 when AFAIK he was only interested in using Sandman and Harry on top of just not being very interested in Venom as a character.
