Cathay United Bank ( Chinese: 國泰世華銀行; pinyin: Guótài Shìhuá Yínháng) is one of the largest commercial banks in Taiwan, with a capital value of TW$67 billion (approximately US$2.23 billion) and more than 165 branches located throughout Taiwan. It is part of Cathay Financial Holdings.
Labuan Branch is an offshore branch of Cathay United Bank. Its presence since January 1998 has been a part of the continuous efforts to expand global network services for overseas and domestic customers.
About Us. Cathay United Bank was established in Taiwan region in 1975 and is currently one of the six systemically important banks in Taiwan region. Cathay United Bank entered mainland China’s market and founded the Shanghai Branch in December 2010.
Cathay United Bank is the merger of United World Chinese Commercial Bank and Cathay United Bank effective on October 2003. Both are the 100%-owned subsidiaries of Cathay Financial Holding Company, the largest financial holding company in Taiwan.
