Broad Ripple Magnet High School for the Arts & Humanities, established in 1886, was a magnet school of the Indianapolis Public Schools. It was closed as a public high school in 2018, but continued to be used as both an administrative building and a host for a Purdue University charter school.
BROAD RIPPLE HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ! We are THE OFFICIAL BRHS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, as recognized by Indianapolis Public Schools and all of the school administrations in the final years of the constitution of the school itself. The Alumni Association is managed by a group of dedicated BRHS graduates.
30 Jun 2023 · The former Broad Ripple High School building will be shared by Purdue Polytechnic High School, a charter innovation school, and an international baccalaureate middle school for IPS. The arrangement is part of the district’s Rebuilding Stronger plan to create more stand-alone middle schools.
4 Ogo 2022 · For the first time since Broad Ripple High School closed its doors in 2018, students and teachers are returning to the building. Now Purdue Polytechnic High School is using the facility for one year.
29 Apr 2022 · IPS board approves lease of Broad Ripple High School to PPHS, a charter school network, while its north campus is under construction. The move is part of a complicated history of the building, which IPS closed in 2018 and wants to sell for market value.
14 Sep 2022 · The old Broad Ripple High School building would be used as a new middle school and is scheduled to open for the 2024-2025 school year.
Broad Ripple, the fourth oldest among the city's high schools, began with seven pupils in 1886. In 1886 a two-year course was inaugurated. Five years after a four-year course was instituted in 1890 the school was commissioned by the Indiana State Board of Education.
