Khalid ibn al-Walid ibn al-Mughira al-Makhzumi (Arabic: خالد بن الوليد بن المغيرة المخزومي, romanized: Khālid ibn al-Walīd ibn al-Mughīra al-Makhzūmī; died 642) was a 7th-century Arab military commander. He initially headed campaigns against Muhammad on behalf of the Quraysh.

Khālid ibn al-Walīd was one of the two generals (with ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ) of the enormously successful Islamic expansion under the Prophet Muhammad and his immediate successors, Abū Bakr and ʿUmar. Although he fought against Muhammad at Uḥud (625), Khālid was later converted (627/629) and joined.

6 Apr 2024 · The Prophet and the Muslims prepared to enter Mecca. The army was organized into four groups. The Prophet appointed Khalid ibn al-Walid as the leader of the right flank to enter Mecca from the south to the north. The Prophet instructed them not to kill anyone unless they fought.
But the Roman Empire prepared a huge army whose news was sent to Abu Bakr [ranhu]. His answer was that Khalid ibn AI-Waleed, who was ordered to go to Syria to take charge. However, with his intelligence and experience, Khalid realized that the former commanders might not be happy with that decision of the Caliph.

Walid bin Yazid atau al-Walid II ialah khalifah kesembilan Kerajaan Bani Umaiyah yang memerintah antara tahun 743 hingga tahun 744. Beliau mewarisi takhta daripada bapa saudaranya, Hisham bin Abdul Malik. Al-Walid hanya memerintah dalam masa setahun dua bulan sahaja kerana telah dibunuh dalam rampasan kuasa yang dipimpin sepupunya, Yazid.
