It was originally titled 20th Century Fox World Malaysia during its development, as a planned movie inspired theme park project by 20th Century Fox, but the studio initially pulled out of its licensing deal amid the transitional period of Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
21 Mac 2024 · Although it will no longer carry the "20th Century Fox" name, Genting SkyWorlds will still feature attractions from 20th Century Fox movies, as well as other international class movie-themed attractions.
3 Nov 2023 · Located about an hour from Kuala Lumpur, the Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park can seem a whole world away, high in the hills in the Genting Highlands. It has a checkered past after it was supposed to be a 20th Century Fox World Malaysia theme park, but the deal fell through partway through building the new theme park.
Genting Skyworlds Theme Park is the latest tourist attraction on the peak of Genting Highlands, based on selected 20th Century Fox film film properties (now owned by Disney) and original ideas.
8 Feb 2022 · The theme park, which was originally intended to be a 20th Century Fox World-branded park, was changed to Genting SkyWorlds after The Walt Disney Co acquired the Twenty-First Century Fox group of companies in 2018.
