May 1, 2023 · So, Umbria should be especially attractive for those people, who have the possibilities. BUT Milan, just one example, has the same to offer: You can be at the sea in under 2 hours, you can be in the alps in one hour and in other major centers in under 2 hours (Torino, etc.), you can even be in Switzerland in 1-2 hours and wash some money 😁.
May 22, 2023 · Perugia was good… not many tourists but I liked is as a base to come back late afternoon and enjoy the local life like Aperitivo and dinner and wandering through streets. Orvietto is maybe the most interesting of them and has the most beautiful cathedral and other sites ( well and Underground) also with amazing views but it is the most touristy.

You either have the wrong train station or are not staying in the old city center. Although it seems like Perugia has more small surrounding towns, Bologna itself is much larger than Perugia and has a massive, extremely well preserved historic centre, with 40km of portici (arcades) just inside it, the two towers, canals, beautiful churches (San Petronio, Santo Stefano for example) and squares as well as an enormous amount of markets ...
