Wyandotte (/ ˈ w aɪ ə n d ɒ t / WY-ən-dot) is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 25,058 at the 2020 census. [2] Wyandotte is located in southeastern Michigan, approximately 11 miles (18 km) south of Detroit on the Detroit River, and it is part of the collection of communities known as Downriver.

Wyandotte, city, Wayne county, southeastern Michigan, U.S., on the Detroit River, just southwest of Detroit. Settled about 1820, it was laid out in 1854 on the site of the Huron village near where the Ottawa chief Pontiac had planned his attack on Detroit in 1763.
From the 1920s to the 1950s, Wyandotte was a major source of toy production. Producing under the name “Wyandotte Toys,” the All Metal Products Company made more toy guns and pistols than anyone else in the United States. In terms of layout, Wyandotte was designed in a similar fashion to Philadelphia.
The City of Wyandotte is a community in south-east Michigan, Wayne County of about 28,000 citizens. The City is ten miles south of the City of Detroit and lays along the Detroit River. With a municipally owned water and power plant the City can provide service to businesses operating here.
