  2. Oct 1, 2012 · 52. In my field (chemistry), the practice is: for those journals that make a clear distinction between minor and major revision requests, “major revision” means that the paper will have to undergo further review after revision, usually by the same referees, while “minor revision” means that while changes should be made, no further ...

  3. Apr 11, 2017 · I have never seen the term "moderate revision", only "minor revision". The exact semantics of major or minor revisions will depend on the journal - at some journals, a minor revision will not be externally reviewed any more, while a major revision will. At others, the difference is less clear-cut and may simply reflect the editor's feeling of ...

  4. 1. No, minor revision doesn't mean accepted with minor revisions. Strictly speaking, for truly minor revisions, it's possible that the editor accepts your paper and leaves you to make the remaining changes during proofs. Since the editor didn't do this, it's still possible your paper will be declined. I've also sent minor revision decisions ...

  5. Aug 4, 2017 · If a major revision is required, acceptance is not guaranteed at all. "Revise" means revision is required, and decision will be taken considering the revisions made. I guarantee there is not a single reputable journal in the world which has status option like "accepted with major revision". Share. Improve this answer.

  6. Sep 19, 2015 · I am submitting a revised manuscript to an Elsevier journal. However, English is my second language and I am confused about the meaning of "Date Revision Due"! The journal editorial system indicates "Sep 19, 2015" as Date Revision Due. Please tell me should I submit the revised manuscript before "Sep 18,2015 11:59 PM" or "Sep 19,2015 11:59 PM"?!

  7. Feb 22, 2021 · Whether a revised manuscript will be sent for another round of reviews is the sole decision of the handling editor; while it's virtually guaranteed for a major revision, it may or may not happen for a minor revision based on the specific comments, the responses to them, and how confident the editor feels about evaluating themselves whether the comments have been addressed adequately.

  8. Oct 4, 2022 · 17. It means that if you don't send your revision by 19 October, they might start doing other things (such as assume you are no longer interested in revising your manuscript). It does not mean that you will get a decision by 19 October, or that they will start working on your paper on 19 October if you send in a revision early.

  9. Nov 16, 2015 · Try to recollect how the statuses changed when you submitted the paper the first time. Scenario 1: with editor/under editor evaluation >> awaiting reviewer selection >> under review If this is how the status had changed the first time you submitted the paper, then chances are that your paper is actually being sent for a re-review.

  10. Jun 27, 2015 · This could mean one of the following: 'reject', 'submit as new', 'major revision, 'minor revision' or 'accept' (Depending on the journal, options may change). Any decision above 'major revision' is good, meaning you get a chance to improve the paper and hopefully get to full accept. Of course the paper can still be rejected at any stage until ...

  11. Oct 1, 2016 · Even revised papers may get rejected, so being in revision is no guarantee to get the paper published. I also would not state the journal to which the paper is submitted to because I do not see how this says anything about the quality of the paper. If you think, that the paper is good and interesting for whoever reads the CV, make it available as a preprint and provide a link.
