Nov 23, 2012 · You could get away using a 9.5mm board to overboard. But to be honest for the price difference I would recommend and use 12.5mm especially if the ceiling isn't totally flat. Make sure to use plenty of drywall screws (more is better than less) and as above use square edge boards and skim.

Jan 12, 2012 · Yes it is possible to overboard the existing ceiling.I prefer to remove them (you can limit the mess by cleaning above the ceiling in the loft space) but if this is not possible then overboarding is your best bet.
