Jul 7, 2023 · In the 2023 regular legislative session, the Kentucky General Assembly passed House Bill No. 83 to revise KRS § 426.720, Kentucky’s judgment lien statute. The bill was signed into law by Governor Beshear on April 6, 2023, and is effective on June 29, 2023.
The judgment creditor, or the judgment creditor's counsel, shall file with the county clerk of any county a notice of judgment lien containing: The court of record entering the final judgment; The civil action number of the suit in which the final judgment was entered;
In any action involving real property which is subject to a judgment lien, service may be had upon the judgment creditor by serving the judgment creditor or the judgment creditor's attorney as shown in the notice of judgment lien.
