The Subordinate Courts Act 1948 [Act 92], which is referred to as the “principal Act” in this Act, is amended in section 2 by inserting after the definition of “Registrar” the following definition:
Subordinate Court. The History of Establishment. Under the Federation of Malaya Agreement 1948, the Subordinate Courts were established under the Subordinate Courts Act 1948. Effective from 1st June 1981, the adoption and application of the Subordinate Courts Act 1948 was extended further to Sabah and Sarawak.
The Subordinate Courts Rules Act 1955 [Act 55], which is referred to as the “principal Act” in this Act, is amended in section 2 by inserting after the definition of “proceeding” the following
