Safe Exam Browser – SEB for Windows opens a web browser window without navigation elements and locks the computer into a kiosk mode, which prevents from switching to other applications or quitting SEB untimely. SEB enables secure exams on unmanaged computers like students' own laptops as well as in managed environments.
Their website says "SEB disables the options of the Windows Security Screen (invoked by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del), namely Lock (this Computer), Switch User, Sign out (Log off), Change a password, (Start) Task Manager, Shut down, Restart and Ease of Access.
In this case the Browser Exam Key is different than in a not manipulated SEB, which would usually prevent accessing an exam supporting the Browser Exam Key check. To prevent issues, Kaspersky Total Security must be uninstalled before an exam.
Feb 11, 2021 · How can I uninstall SEB in a silent mode (using my script)? I looked up in the documentation, and did not find a solution to my problem (it mentions only uninstalling manually through Add/Remove programs).
I'm trying to uninstall SEB 2.4 but windows won't let me. The documentation says to find the exact version that is installed. But 2.4 is not available and 2.4.1 does not work.
May 3, 2023 · You can just remove the Safe Exam Browser app from the /Applications folder. SEB doesn't save anything into other locations, just macOS creates org.safeexambrowser.SafeExamBrowser.plist in ~/Library/Preferences/ as usual for macOS apps.
