Jan 17, 2022 · Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) was authorised as an IB World School in 2005 and is at present one of the few national schools in Singapore to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
Boarding School. Established in 1994, the ACS (Independent) Boarding School is home to about 500 students and staff. Each hall has carefully selected resident staff who provide a balance of academic and pastoral support. The ACS (I) Boarding School marks it’s 30 th anniversary in 2024.
Origins. The family of Anglo-Chinese Schools, as we know it today, began with a Providential call to Methodist Reverend William Fitzjames Oldham, to establish a mission in Southeast Asia. At that time, there were few educational opportunities for the many children in the city-port of Singapore.
