Aug 8, 2006 · Smarter people than me say that coax is better at preserving the sample clock than optical, and for the best results have a cable longer than 1.5M as this avoids reflections from impedance mismatch at the cable ends arriving at the same time as the clock edges. Mar 10, 2013 · If the amp offers phono and XLR, this is most likely to be the case. Simply connect the phono signal to the "Hot" xlr pin and join the "Cold" and earth together. I do agree with Mark however, that for a short run and when only an unbalanced output is available, a simple phono to phono cable is the best solution. 👍. 1.
