Hunter's Moon, Part One. Airdate: May 13th 1996. Hunters Moon is the three part, second season finale of Gargoyles, and since Greg Weisman considers the third season non-canon, with the exception of The Journey, it is also considered by most fans to be the series finale.
May 3, 2024 · The gargoyles aid Elisa in foiling a robbery on the subway by three street thugs. The passengers seem more afraid of the gargoyles than they are of the criminals. The three Hunter siblings infiltrate the 23rd Precinct, Nightstone Unlimited, and WVRN news station, and use different last names.
In a 1980 flashback at Notre Dame Cathedral, Demona retrieves the Praying Gargoyle when she is confronted by the current Hunter, Charles Canmore. She kills him and glides away laughing, while his three children watch from below.

The core concept of "Hunter's Moon" is the return of the Hunters, which had last been seen in "City of Stone", and which (aside from Macbeth's wearing the Hunter's mask during his pursuit of Demona in that same story) had apparently come to an end with Canmore's triumph over Macbeth in 1057.
