Go find the guy Gaprak guy under the stairs, read the note, talk to the Gaprak family about it, then go see the Drivestems and you'll be led to a bench, make an awareness skill check, talk to the Sauerbecks about the dead guy and then go do the verdict.
Accuse each of the household, Abelard will react and give you clue on what he thinks if they are guilty or not. Find Sauerback guilty and let Seneschal take it, watch the scene unfold and decide how merciful/vengeful you want to be.
