Aliexpress caters to single item or "smaller" bulk buyers; it's similar to dhgate.com and both offer escrow services. Alibaba.com leans towards "big" bulk buyers, and can be a minefield to negotiate. Sometimes the company listed at that site can be 100% honest and legitimate, but their salesmen try to persuade buyers to bank in the payment to their personal account.
